Wishing to explore Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Bunyonyi? Trust Nature Adventure Africa Safaris to plan for your trip.

It was in February 2024 when I had an amazing Safari in Uganda. I visited two special places that’s to say Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Bunyonyi. These places are very beautiful and have many exciting things to see and do.

On my arrival day, reaching at Entebbe Airport I was picked up by Nature Adventure Africa Safari’s professional driver and drove me up to Serena hotel Kampala where I had my dinner and overnight. The hotel had comfortable beds, delicious food and also a nice view outside.

In the morning, I and Sharon embarked on our journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and we had our enroute lunch at Igongo cultural center in Mbarara where we had our first stopover and later proceeded to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It’s a big forest with tall trees and lots of animals. The most famous animals here are mountain gorillas. They are big and strong and they live within the forest.

Upon reaching Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, I checked in Buhoma community lodge so as to keep my luggage safe and later went for Buhoma community village walk and together with my driver-guide we interacted with friendly local, witnessed traditional practices and also learnt about their culture and customs and later went back to lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

The following day after taking breakfast I went to the starting point for a briefing about the rules and regulations followed when trekking gorillas. After briefing, we entered the jungle and we walked through the forest for a long time only seeing some primates like monkeys and also some bird species.

Finally, we found a group of gorillas. They were eating leaves and playing with each other. They looked at us with their big brown eyes and it was amazing to see them up close. We watched them for a while and then quietly left them alone after taking some photographs and videos for memories.  For real this was a special moment that I will never forget.

After a long day of trekking, I went back to the lodge for dinner and overnight. The lodge was cozy and comfortable with a big bed and warm blankets. I slept very well after having my exciting day in the forest.

In the morning, I woke up to the sound of birds singing outside my window. It was a beautiful start to another day of adventure.

After breakfast, proceeded to Lake Bunyonyi for relaxation which is a big lake surrounded by green hills and its water is clear and calm whereas perfect for swimming and boat riding. I took a boat ride on the lake and I explored some small islands such as the Akampene island where unmarried pregnant girls were left to die of hunger taking it as an example to other young girls. Each island is like a little paradise with sandy beaches and lush vegetation.

I also went for swimming and the water was cool and refreshing and I had a lot fun splashing around. There are many colorful fish in the lake and I enjoyed watching them swimming beneath the surface.

After a long day of swimming and boat riding, I went in a charming Arcadia lodge. The lodge had cozy cottages with beautiful views of the lake. I could see the see the sunrise from my window and it was absolutely stunning. The staff at the lodge were very friendly and welcoming. They made sure I had everything I needed for a comfortable stay.

The following day we transferred back Kampala with a stopover at equator where we had our lunch and also some refreshments. Here we took some photographs and also videos for memories and later proceeded to Entebbe in order to catch up with my flight and that was the end of my trip.

My trip to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park and Lake Bunyonyi was an unforgettable experience. I saw amazing animals, explored beautiful landscapes and stayed in cozy lodges. It was a journey that filled me with wonder and appreciation for natural world. I hope to visit Uganda again with Nature Adventure Africa Safari someday and explore even more of its incredible beauty.
