On this self-drive in Rwanda, you will be able to do gorilla trekking in one of the best spots in the whole world, the Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. Other unique wildlife encounters to look out for on this tour will be Golden Monkeys and Chimpanzees.

The safari starts by arriving to Rwanda, a land of a thousand hills. You will be welcomed by our staff at the airport and then you are driven to the hotel to rest as you wait for the fascinating awaiting adventures of this epic wonderful beautiful country in the following days. You will unwind from the long flight and jet lag. You will have dinner and overnight at a recommended hotel/lodge.

With you 4×4 vehicle, transfer to Volcanoes National Park and in the evening, you will go for Iby’Iwacu Cultural Experience. Have Breakfast, you shall drive northeast to the town of Musanze close to the Virunga Volcano range. You will have lunch en-route or at the lodge depending on time.

In the evening, you will embark on the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village which gives you a rare chance to meet local people, in their environment, with a taste of the culture and traditions. Be gladly welcomed by the community as a special visitor while they proudly present to your aspects of their traditions and beliefs. You will have a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at your reserved lodge.

Dian Fossey hike in Volcanoes National Park. After having breakfast, have your packed lunch and drinking water and drive to the park headquarters for briefing and be equipped about the hike. This guided hike takes you to where Dian Fossey and Digit were buried and you can see the remains of her former research camp.

Along the way, you’ll also learn more about Dian Fossey’s life and the tragic circumstances surrounding her death. You will as well see the house in which Dian Fossey was strangely murdered back in 1985 however calmer is at the place where she was laid to rest just close to her most-loved gorilla. After an amazing trek, return to the trailhead, drive back to the lodge for a relaxed evening, dinner and overnight at reserved Lodge.

On this 4×4 car rental safari you will trek the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Wake up very early in the morning to have breakfast and transfer to the park information offices for the pre – trekking briefings for the guidelines to follow during golden monkey tracking and then start the forest hike to search for the beautiful golden monkeys.

Compared with other monkey species, the golden monkeys are gorgeous in appearance, they have bright colored fur with long golden hair mixed with orange. The overall estimate currently stands between 2000 and 4000 individuals and since they are only found in the Virunga’s conservation area, they have been classified as endangered species.

After the golden monkey trekking safari, you will have lunch and later embark on a border crossing journey to Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, with dinner and overnight at your reserved lodge.

Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is a thrilling experience. After breakfast and getting ready with your packed lunch, head to the park headquarters for briefing by park ranger guides, to start gorilla trekking the activity can last up to 4 hours trek or more to find the Mountain Gorillas as you hike up and down the slopes with dense mist covered vegetation.

This active quest will eventually bring you to the face of one of the most sought-after creatures-the mountain Gorillas. Upon reaching them, you will have one full hour with them while observing and learning their behavior as you take photos. You will have dinner and overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Haven Lodge.

Tree Climbing Lions safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park’s Ishasha Sector. After having breakfast to south of Queen Elizabeth National Park in the famous Ishasha sector which is the home of tree climbing Lions! Once in Ishasha, you will have lunch at the lodge and later embark on the game drive that will give you a chance to see tree climbing lions in Ishasha.

On a lucky day, you will be amazed to see them resting on the branches of fig trees during afternoon hours this together with other wild animals and amazing vegetation cover and landscapes. Other animals to see include Warthogs, Topi Antelopes, African Elephants, Uganda Kobs, Cape Buffalo and many tropical birds. Dinner and overnight at your reserved Lodge.

In 4×4 vehicle, transfer to Northern Queen Elizabeth National Park for a boat cruise on Kazinga Channel. After having breakfast, check out with packed lunch as you can have another morning game drive to try out our luck for the tree climbing lions if missed the previous evening! You will have lunch en route or at the lodge depending on time.

In the afternoon hours you will have a launch cruise along Kazinga channel and you will appreciate the high scores of Elephants, Hippos, Buffaloes and crocodiles. A number of bird species will also be seen along including the rare shoe bill. Diner and overnight will be at your reserved Lodge.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Queen Elizabeth and evening crater drive. Have an early morning breakfast and head to the gorge for Chimpanzee trekking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild. The stunning Kyambura Gorge, the landscape is among the most impressive you will find in Uganda and it is swarmed a rich wildlife bio-diversity that comprises of primates, wild animals as well as birds.

After the trek, you will return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation. Later you will have crater drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park. The craters here are the most scenic park stretching for 27km but the crater drive is less done. The explosion crater lakes from Kikorongo to Katwe shade the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park.

The drive-in is on a ridge with a high point of 1350m ASL. The drive offers views of Lake George at the start of the climb, vegetation-filled craters, and others filled with water to form lakes Dinner and overnight at your reserved Lodge.

Chimpanzee Trekking in Kalinzu Forest and then transfer to Lake Mburo National Park. Have an early morning breakfast and head to Kalinzu Central Forest Reserve for Chimpanzee trekking to meet man’s closet cousins in the wild.

You will be amazed to see these primates as they play, swing on tree branches, fight for food etc. The Forest has over 414 tree species, 6 different primates including chimpanzees, blue monkeys, black and white Colobus monkeys, red-tailed monkeys, approximately 380 bird species, reptiles & butterflies.

Chimpanzee trekking in Uganda is one of the major attractions in Kalinzu Forest. Chimpanzees are interesting creatures because they look and behave like human beings since they share 98% of their DNA with us. You will have lunch en route as you transfer to Lake Mburo National Park, with dinner and overnight at your reserved Lodge.

Morning walking safari in Lake Mburo National Park and transfer to Entebbe. After having an early breakfast, go for a morning safari walk in Lake Mburo National Park.

This park is famous for walks inside and around the park on foot where you can see long horned cattle of Ankole community which can mix freely with Zebras, Impalas, Giraffes, Warthogs, Elands, Cape Buffaloes and many tropical bird species. You will check out the park and have a drive to Entebbe International airport and depending on your scheduled flight.
